Are You A Hair Extension Virgin?

There is an easy solution for anyone who wants longer; fuller hair without a hard to care for, permanent set of human hair extensions this is ...clip-in hair extensions.

Human hair extensions are realistic and attractive when applied by a professional, However they can be hard to care for if you don't have lots of time to devote to your hair. Clip in hair extensions the perfect alternative for people looking for great hair without the hassle.

Clip in extensions are easy to care for, all you have to do is follow these few simple guidelines.

Matching Your Hair: Before you buy a set of extensions you must make sure they match your own hair, this should be easy as there are a vast selection of colours-  also, practising applying them is necessary if you are totally foreign to clip in hair extensions.

How to Apply Clip in Extensions: First of all you horizontally divide the back of your hair from ear to ear using a tail comb. Once you've done this, grab the top part of the hair and tie away with a bobble or claw clip. Then get your clip in piece, use the clips to snap your clip-in hair extension to the natural hair just below the part once it is applied securely, you are ready to repeat this process in all the spots on your scalp you'd like the extensions to take hold

Make sure: You must make sure your own hair is combed over the clip attachment – If these are visible people will be able to see the clips and weft.

Tip: It’s handy to backcomb and hairspray the section of hair your clipping the snap clip onto, this prevents the hair extensions from slipping out and gives a stronger base for the clips to hold onto.

Everything you need to do with hair extensions is available from http://www.buyhair.co.uk/.

Hair Extensions Tips

Extensions are an amazing way of beefing up your locks. If you do have extensions or plan to get them, check out these tips…
* Do not
wash extensions any sooner than 24hours after application, as this will weaken the bonds.
* Always brush extensions BEFORE washing to de-tangle.
* Avoid getting a build up of products such as hairspray and serum as this will cause the bonds to slip, so always wash your extensions gently but rinse well until the water becomes clear.
* When using hair conditioner - Do not go higher than the bottom of the neck as this will cause the bonds to weaken.
* Regularly separate your bonds, as the hairs that would normally shed on a daily basis can get trapped in the extension bonds.
* If the bonds are not separated, matting can occur, matting is where several bonds lock together. If you ignore this it can turn into a dreadlock!
* It is preferable to use hair products specifically designed for extensions (
www.buyhair.co.uk
sells this).
* When drying extensions always use a low heat setting to avoid over drying and heating up the bonds.
* Always be careful with hair straighteners as they can melt the bond if you get too close.
If you follow these tips your extensions can last up to 5 months before you will need them reapplying. Check out www.buyhair.co.uk for more information about extensions.

Inspiring looks....

I absolutely love what lady gaga has done on this photo.... very creative!

<3
I love how these days it’s acceptable to have random colour streaks in your hair. Celebrities such as Katie Perry and Britney Spears really pull off this look. It a great statement for anybody who wishes to portray there personality through their hair.

You can buy clip in streaks from
www.buyhair.co.uk for a few pounds, which I think is a bargain!
The eye-catching pink, blue, red and orange streaks though Britney’s hair look fun and unique, they are perfect for party’s or if you looking for a quirky style change!

Messy Hair On Perpose.

Yes, messy hair is considered a fashion statement – in a structured way of course.  Hair that generally looks like it’s been through a bush is a no no, however, beach waves and tousled curls are bang on trend for autumn 2011.

How to:
·         Shampoo and condition your hair with a small amount of conditioner, too much will weigh the hair down.
·         Towel dry your hair until there is no water dripping from the ends and then run your fingers through your hair finding where your hair falls naturally (do not use a comb).
·         Tip your head upside down and blow dry your hair from underneath (this enhances volume) and stop when the hair is semi dry.
·         At this point your hair should be half dry half damp – run wax through your hair, then blow dry until it’s dry.
·         Use your straighteners to flick out sections of your hair that don’t look particularly messy. Then finish off by scrunching with hairspray.
·         You’re finished.
If you feel your hair isn’t long enough www.buyhair.co.uk sells a range of hair extensions, they also sell all the products you need to create this look.

Feather Hair Extensions

Hair Feathers <3

After hearing a lot about hair feathers, I have decided to give them a go myself, I purchased my feathers from www.hairfeathers.co.uk for £14.99 and I also purchased the application kit to put them in.

What you need:
  • Micro ring beads
  • Threader tool and application pliers (Available from www.hairfeathers.co.uk)
  • Sectioning clips
Firstly you section off your hair and find where you would like to place the feather, You then select a tiny section of your hair and pull it through the threader tool then slip the micro bead into the root area, you then put the bond of the feather into the micro bead and clamp shut with pliers, voilà, your feather is in place.

Once you have applied your feather you can then wash, blow dry, straighten and curl them as normal.

I found myself getting really addicted and I just wanted more and more in my hair!

These feathers really give a boring old hair style a funky edge. They have been spotted on celebrities such as Selena Gormez, Miley Cyrus and Hilary Duff.

Applying Individual Eyelashes

Individual eye lashes are a beauty secret behind many celebrities. They can make your eye lashes look much fuller and glamorous.

I purchased mine from
www.buyhair.co.uk, along with the glue. The glue is different from strip lashes, it’s a lot stronger, so mistakes MUST be minimal when applying these.
When applying them, apply a line of black eye liner across the lash line. Use the box and pour a blob of glue onto it. Remove the lashes from the box using tweezers, dip the end of the lash into the glue and apply to the actual eye lashes.  You must be very careful when doing this, because the glue is quite strong. The eye lashes can be removed using natural oils.

When wearing the lashes I didn’t have to top these lashes up until 3 days, which I think for the price of £5.94 is really good. Topping them up was easy, overall I had them on a week and had to top them up once then I decided to remove them.

Colour Pots.
I purchased some Directions hair colour to dip-dye my clip in extensions, I went for the carnation pink colour and the violet. Dip-dying is where you only dye the ends of your hair about 5-6 inches up.

The pots are 88ml which is enough to cover a full head of shoulder length hair, they also come with a handy latex glove to keep any dye from staining your hands. The pots are easy to use as they come with a 49 mm opening for use with a tint brush so you can dye your hair with ease!

I recommend you pre-lighten your hair before using these colour pots because the colour comes out a lot brighter and vibrant when it has a blonde base. You can buy the colour and the pre lightener from
www.buyhair.co.uk.

I applied the violet dye to the hair extensions using my tinting brush about 6 inches up, I then left it to develop for 10 minutes. I then washed the hair and dried it. The colour was VERY bright and eye catching and came out a very subtle purple. I then died the ends of the extensions with the carnation pink about 3 inches up and left it to develop for 15 minutes. After rinsing and drying the results were great and created an eye catching 2-tone effect!

The colour pots are perfect for showing off your own individual statement.

Hair Extensions Shampoo and Conditioner

I purchased these products because I own a set of clip in hair extensions that I’ve had for a while - They had started to get slightly ratty.

After doing a bit of online research I discovered using average shampoo and conditioner on hair extensions can actually ruin the hair because they contain chemicals which have a high PH level!  I shopped around for a bit and came across www.buyhair.co.uk that sells after care products which are specifically designed for extensions.

They sold a mini shampoo and conditioner set which was perfect for testing the products out before I bought the 250ml bottles.

The shampoo is a gentle moisturising cleanser while the conditioner
helps detangle and smooth’s the hair making it easy to brush and manage. They are
enriched with fruit oil extracts of apple and mango, crushed pearls and natural proteins. It is specifically formulated to help your hair stay healthy and your extensions looking naturally shiny and soft.

The shampoo and conditioner can be used in the same way as any normal shampoo and conditioner.

The products are not tested on animals, which is great because I’m strongly against animal testing. After using the products and letting my extensions dry naturally I was very pleased with the results, the hair seemed a lot glossier and in better condition, I most certainly will be buying the 250ml bottles!

Review of SHF hair POUF

Today I am doing a review on my SHF hair POUF… I purchased this from www.buyhair.co.uk in the colour #Golden Blonde 24/613.
The hair pouf piece is like a scrunchie that’s elastic so you can wrap it around your own ponytail. You can transform a boring bun into an eye catching hair style, worn at the nape of the neck for an elegant style OR at the base of the crown for height and volume. The hair on the piece comes with tousled curls which can create an elegant or modern style.

I wore it at the base of my crown in a messy style, I backcombed my own hair and put it in a high bun, I messed it up a little with my hands to add texture. I then back combed the hair pouf so it blended correctly with my own hair, I tied the hair piece onto my bun and arranged it with the messy look in mind, I then secured it with hair grips.

The style looked really well – it gave the impression that my hair was a lot fuller, the colour was a perfect match and it looked just like my own hair. The hair is synthetic but it doesn’t have the synthetic shininess to it like some synthetic hair on the market. For £11.00 I felt it was a very reasonable price to pay.

My Review Of A Synthetic Hair Piece.

This is my review on a synthetic ponytail. I absolutely love this product, its perfect for holidays.
You simply put your own hair in a high ponytail and either clip it over, or put your hair into a bun and tighten the drawstring around it.

I love how there are TWO ways off applying my clip in ponytail (in photos).
The ponytail is so easy to wear and doesn’t feel heavy on your head, it’s very secure when it’s in place and stays put all day .
I purchased my synthetic ponytail from buyhair.co.uk, they have a huge array of styles  and colours to suit anyone.

EasiHair

This is my review of the product EasiVolume pro hair extensions by Easihair.I purchased this product in 10 inches colour#24bt18 at £61.34 from www.buyhair.co.uk. The product claims to add instant volume but its 100% discreet in your hair so it is undetectable to any passer-by, the product fulfilled its promise, the hair is lusciously thick and soft.

It is very easy to apply and takes less than 2 minutes by attaching 4 snap clips to the root area of your own hair; it is very comfortable to wear, I wore mine all day and I didn’t feel strain on my hair unlike other clip in hair I’ve tried.

The hair comes with a hair net so you can store it safely away to avoid tangling which I thought was very handy.

You can straighten, curl wash and blow dry the hair as much as you like, however the hair comes with a gorgeous natural wave which blends wells with my own hair so I was reluctant to heat style it, after curling a few sections of the hair and wearing it for a day I was pleased that the curls didn’t drop and stayed in securely (much better than my own hair did)

Great product which I will use a lot!

Review of Braided Hair Dome

With the prom season being a big talking point at the moment I thought I would do a review on a elegant hair piece. This piece is a Braided Hair Dome which has been designed to fit over the top of a bun with a claw clip attatchment.

I have chosen this piece because braids and plaits are bang on trend this season, the piece is a mixure of 3 shades of brown, which work really well together and match my hair perfectly.

How To Apply:
* Style your own hair into a tight bun
* use the claw clip (pictrued below) and fix into the bun
* If you look closely at the below picture yo will see ther is an elastic strap all the way around the piece, these are so it can be secusred with hair grips right the way around. (you will need to use quite a few ) but they are hidden under neath the hair piece.
YOUR DONE

I really like this piece for formal events and it is easily attached. The brand is "Stranded" and I purchased it from www.buyhair.co.uk for £22.78.

Review of Flip-in Hair Extensions

I recently purchased some Flip-in Hair Extensions after hearing a lot about them online in forums. So i decided to purchase some from www.buyhair.co.uk.
I went for the 12" Silky Straight in colour #5 which is a light brown tone, I wanted the short piece to add volume to my own hair, because after bleaching, it has worn thin and lifeless.

Flip-in hair extensions pack contains:

* The hair itself on a wire.
* Tail comb (for flipping).
* Hanger (for storage).
* A spare wire
* Instructions leaflet

I've took a close up picture of the wire for you to see closer, it's hardly visible in the photo, but hopefully you can get an idea of what it is.
The hair is very thick, definately a 10/10 for the amount of hair on the weft.

How to apply:
1. I placed the Flip-in Hair on the string around my head, like a hairband with the wire sitting behind my hair line and pulled it down a little bit so it was secure.
2. I then pulled my natural hair with the tailcomb from underneath the flip in hair so it covered it.
3. I gently secured it by pulling it down a little.
DONE.
It literally took me around 3 minutes to apply and style my hair around it and my hair looked a lot fuller and the wire is completely undedectable.
To remove you simply pull it off like you would a hairband

The hair was £103.19, I feel this is a very fair and reasonable price for the quality of the product, the hair is VERY thick and luxurious. Its perfect to flip in on a morning before work because it takes minutes to apply
Overall I'm very pleased with my Flip-In Hair :) <3

Looking after your Hair Extensions in the summer!

Summer has finally arrived so what better way to look funky than wearing a big summer hat which can protect your hair extensions.
Hair extensions need to be treated with a little more care than your natural hair – because the hair is no longer living it cannot produce its own oils too stay hydrated.

The sun can dry out your hair extensions leaving them weak and prone to snapping.
Buy hair recommend you wear a hat to protect your hair in the sun and it also protects your scalp from sunburn which can lead to itching and dandruff.
www.buyhair.co.uk sells a selection of damage repair products that aren’t harsh on hair extensions and are perfect to use in these summer months.

Big floppy hats and boho cowboy hats are bang on trend for summer 2011!
